About

In March 2009 a group of 21 from the School of the Built Environment at the University of Nottingham made the 12 hour flight to Narita Airport, Tokyo.

The purpose of the trip was to explore Tokyo; not necessarily in a purely architectural way but to experience life in Tokyo; from the daily grind of the morning commute, to the weekend nightlife and the seasonal celebration of the Cherry Blossom.

The group spent seven days in the city, recording through photographs, sketches and diaries the places they went and the people they met. This blog ties the recorded information together, and presents individual and group experiences.
